Such an important story and I thank Caro for sharing it so generously, empathetically and exquisitely. I was soon gripped by the story of a shaken life and a demanding lifestyle. I have both the audiobook and the print, as it's one of those beautiful reads that you just want to absorb into yourself in every possible medium. But I’d say it’s for men too.

This is a woman’s raw tale, and it is overwhelmingly female, feminine, womanly. What strange creatures we are. I have so many different emotional responses to it that it's actually difficult to unpick. It is a book I will reread again and again.
