Then I also did 2 rows of short-row shaping mid-back and another 6 around the neck. I had to heavily modify a pattern for a great fit.

And we have seven months of winter where I live. I’ve started my second sweater from this book.

I’ve used one of the charts to decorate a pair of mittens. I included a photo of the neck shaping that I did. The charts are easy to follow and good detail on explanation of wool used.

I love them. The fit turned out great. I even did steeking for the first time!

The actual book is lovely to look at too. I sized down 2 sizes for the waist band, adding 8 stitches to start the body and then tapering an additional increase of 12 stitches up the body. Absolutely love this book, easy to follow and understand.

Then you do both arms before knitting them onto the same needles in the round. I am now knitting a second pattern, and have plans to do one of the cardigans next. You also have to learn how to catch floats behind the colour work - especially the paws. All of the patterns are beautiful, well written , thick paper and very nice images.

Fortunately the particular pattern I chose (Føyka) was easy to modify. The sweaters would fit much better and be more comfortable to wear with some short-row neck shaping (I know probably not traditional).
