The layout is amazing and I couldn't put it down! I got this to help my 9 year old daughter who has recently been diagnosed as autistic to help her understand herself and her awesomeness ☺️ we are reading it together but I have read the whole thing myself as I couldn't stop reading! Abigail Balfe has managed to successfully write a book that will appeal not just to younger readers, but to adults also.

In this book, she describes different terms, explains how it's more typical for boys to be diagnosed as the diagnostic tests are designed for males. This is by far the best book we have found. It’s fun and informative and doesn’t treat her neurodiversity as a bad thing, it gives good useful tips and insights into the autistic world and how you can help yourself or help and understand a loved one. Such a valuable book to have to hand, I can see this book helping so many people.

This charming, heartfelt, delightful book really moved me and helped me feel less alone in the world. Overall, it’s a positive account of living with autism and offers so much advice for developing strategies to cope with it – but most importantly, a lot of encouragement in accepting who you are and loving who you are, without making apologies for it. It's a really interesting and factual insight into her story but also about how different types of people are more pre-disposed to thus condition. This book as been like a little bible for her to dip in and out of and for me as a mum it’s been so helpful when I might need some insight or help from an Autistic adult.

There are so many elements to each chapter alongside adorable, eye-catching illustrations that I was utterly absorbed! I truly think that everyone could learn something from this book; the part that has helped me the most is to be a little more understanding and accepting of myself and even, dare I say it, to learn to celebrate my different sort of normal! I cannot recommend this book enough. The author takes you on a journey and the book covers so many topics!

Not being Autistic myself we searched for books and videos for her. Very enlightening! It's such a beautiful mixture of vulnerability, hardship, understanding, acceptance, hilarity and empowerment that I couldn't help but be moved to tears. This book tells the story of a 30ish year old woman who doesn't get diagnosed until that age.
