I was ready to by a whole new door frame, because nothing else would hold. The door is a secured as it’s ever been and it’s holding extremely well. I'm glad I went with these instead of some other DIY method.

We have heavy wood, double doors that both open on the entrance of our home. Inserted these by hand until they reached maximum depth then broke off the excess.

The hardest part about the job was holding the hinge down while I screwed in the screws. I got my boat back from the shop and when I opened up the battery hatch cover the screws were falling out and the hatch was becoming separated from the hinge.

These really worked! But they were easy to install, no mess, and snugged down.

And although a bit costly compared to dowels and wood glue, I thought I would give these a try. You can see slight remnant of it on the bottom screw - but they are all reinforced, and it stopped getting loose. I tried filler and other metal competitors. :-)

I was a little disappointed to see that when I unscrewed one that the little side grips on it were already wiped off. So the little grips wouldn't come off so easily.

I screwed the "screw it again" in place and then screwed the leg in and it worked perfectly. I tried them anyway putting them in and breaking them off as instructed.
