5/5:It's a nice quality paperback with thick enough pages to not completely see what's on the other side (it's a great and economic thickness, thin enough to keep the book price cheap and thick enough to not be distracting - there is no text visible from the other side while reading). I was also a bit surprised at the remarkable contrast between the North and the South Koreas. It is easy to read and forthright in its presentation.

It is profoundly beneficial for Americans and other Western countries to be aware of these atrocities. This is a must read for all readers. I have read some of the negative reviews. Biographies are versions of the author and their perspective.

Why did we fight so hard to create this country? Survival strategies of an ordinary (read extraordinary) North Korean in order to live. I'm often disappointed in hyped up books but this was good.
