The coffee pot is a traditional Melitta or Krups type configuration with the filter. I use reusable pods, rather than the single use K-cup pods to use my favorite coffee, save money and avoid the waste from single use K-cups.

I simplified a lot of appliances because this coffee maker has all the functions you can imagine and makes the coffee so delicious that you don't want to drink it outside. The hotplate also has a light up warning to let you know it’s warm and the ninja adjusts the heat depending on the size of the brew and how long it will stay on the plate to avoid burning the coffee.

I seriously recommend this! There is a warmer to keep your coffee warm and it automatically turns on only when you are brewing with the carafe. I can't tell you how long the pot will last, as I've only had it for a month.

I am also a heavy tea & granulated coffee drinker, so as a morning routine, I boil 1. I think this is an amazingly innovative company and the quality is amazing in each product. My husband and I prefer keurig coffee intensity to Nespresso, and I use hot water function for everything! Coffee is my passion owned so many different coffee machines but this is by far the best and most convenient!
