Without that, you would have to copy everything every time which woudl be terribly slow and inefficient. Size is almost same as WD passport. The difference in size (and weight) is massive. It doesn't matter when you registered on site, from the date of import it ll be 3yr 3mnths (Date of import on boxJun 2016).

On the other hand, if using it as a backup, I would not leave it permanently plugged in unless you need to simply because if a virus strikes it will take out your external hard drive at the same time. Photos 3 & 4 show it next to my old Maxtor hard drive.

Photo 2 shows you the drive and the cable to connect it your computer. For warranty i registered on seagate website, It's parent company. They are also less than half the size and weight – I will show you a photo of my old Maxtor drive side-by-side with this new one in a moment.

Yet to use. The reason why they are so musch smaller and lighter is because the new ones are designed to fit inside laptops whereas the old external hard drives were designed to fit inside desktops.

External hard drives have two main uses – either as a backup or to expand the memory of your computer. I keep it in a Case Logic case. The case contains a mesh pocket for storing the cable in which is an essential feature (see photo 8).
