its not an annoying or overly bright headphone at all. Mids:Low mids are reasonably flat and a small rise can be heard moving up. The splashy and extended treble only adds to this somewhat 'tizzy' sound. Why I know it's good?

Great levels of detail, ambience and space, they sound wonderfully balanced too. I left Goldfrapp pounding out on repeat and went shopping for a few hours.

I know good sounds from average, and bad sounds. Imaging is a mixed bag sometimes. The mids start dipping again towards the upper mids and the presence region. It can be both a relaxing, though very unengaging listen at times.

Have tried and owned a great deal of headphones in the £150-£400 range (Beyerdynamic, AKG, etc), but was never truly satisfied with bass. The cable scratchy. A thick bass hit fills in the bottom, whilst some distant mids and a somewhat present treble go towards the top of your head and sound close and centred.
