Driver download and installation is a must, as the device wont work otherwise. It is smaller than expected and has good aesthetics and finishes. It doesn't have a separate power supply, it's powered directly from the computer but I haven't noticed any kind of interference, creaks or noises. I bought it for use as a DAC for a Linux PC to service self-amplified speakers and use occasionally with headphones.

I'll continue with the tests. I really liked it, the sound is clear, detailed and not at all colored for what I'm used to. Besides power, theres also a VERY noticeable improvement in soundstage and imaging compared to my laptop's built in headphone jack. It works great with very low consumption.

Also, it's better to refrain from headphones that require a lot of power. This was the only Amazon stock.

I am attaching a referenced photo from when I was testing it in the office with the mobile headphones, so you can see the size. I can use it as soon as I plug it into my PC and it makes a beautiful sound.
Works well with my Sennheiser HD600, HD560S, and HD598 and gets them very loud. It doesn't preamp the speakers so you can't control the volume of the speakers, only the volume of the headphones.
There is no such thing as a loss of connection so far. It has a switch on the back, of a little fair quality, on the back to change the gain. There is a channel imbalance near the lower volume limit of the volume knob. No complaints especially for the price.
Another peculiarity is that it serves the headphones and the speakers at the same time, if you don't have an accessible switch on the latter it can be very uncomfortable. Connect the USB to the computer, the RCA cables to the speakers and that's it, without further ado, no drivers required, tested on Windows in the office and on Linux (Fedora 36) at home. It is easy to use and to set it up all you have to do is plug it in.
