Really cool product. I was very happy about it but now I have to return it. Do yourself a favour and get a cheap laptop and audio interface and this controller to start your journey. Believe me I know.

Tho I have a BeatStepPro as an external midi/cv sequencer so didn’t need the redundancy. The faders and all other similar parameters are surprisingly “gentle” / “smooth” and they move as automatically to he new value at a set speed. Novation Launchpad X MIDI Grid Controller for Ableton Live. Quite simply an incredible piece of equipment that can be made to work as the centre of your music creation.

I hope the same thing does not happen to the second one I bought, as on Black Friday day I decided to buy another one for myself. EDITThe launchpad I bought for my daughter, the first one I bought, does not get recognised by Windows and continually disconnects.

So yeah if you use Ableton I would recommend. For those reasons alone, I’d still keep this even if it were just for a soft synth on protools or the drum rack in Cubase! Musical.
