I have my laptop charger plugged into it, allowing me to activate the charger from a distance via Alexa when I'm notified that it's batter is low. ) I might even get one for the TV!

OVERRIDING AND FLEXIBILITY IN USEThere is also some flexibility - by this, I mean that I can override the pre-programmed times with voice command as necessary, BUT initially, I wasn’t sure if Alexa could handle it without messing up the pre-programmed times. I recently purchased a Google Home Mini, in addition to my Alexa Echo Dot; it would be much more useful if I could use the device with either/both. Then access your Alexa app on your phone, tablet or computer. The media could not be loaded.

), I decided to try a smart plug for the first time ever (I know but blame it on my age and the fact I am an unrelenting cyberphobe 😊). I cannot recommend it highly enough, especially the price. I’ve plugged a lamp in, and it’s a lot better than one of those manual timer thingies, for example, Alexa knows when it’s dusk, so I don’t have to keep adjusting the ON times every week - I just set it up to come on at dusk, and leave it.

These plugs connect so seamlessly with the house Alexa network it’s almost child’s play. Plugged it in and within seconds Alexa told me the plug was being set up, then announced that it was ready for use, default name “first plug” which was easily renamed by asking Alexa.
