I thought fantastic I look the philosophy behind this book this is exactly what I need. See pics of my own birth plan made with the icons and printed ready for my hospital bag. Straight to the point easy for your midwife to read. I originally downloaded a sample on kindle before buying.

That's something the book is very clear to point out. So after leaving my review, I did go and pick the book back up and truthfully can't put it down. A really encouraging and validating read that isn't patronising or hard to follow.
It is very good at reassuring you but has awakened fears where there weren't any before. As a mum of one who is nervous about giving birth again in the coming weeks, it's given me a fresh, more positive perspective and helped me to understand that I have rights! I've read half the book and have had to move on. 'Leave your dignity at the door' and 'there is no point making a birth plan' are common, unhelpful statements that give women the impression that as soon as they are in labour, they have no choices.
Half of these things I hadn't thought about and now I'm thinking about them! The book explores every possible thought and fear pregnant ladies have had, which is my only bug.
There are always choices and women should always be treated with dignity. 5 stars! The birth plan bit is also great.
