Dr Rediger has investigated and talked about things that most doctors don’t go near. I feel strength in taking my healing into my own hands. It’s written like a story rather than a science book, making it incredibly easy and enjoyable to read.
I no longer think my body is against me and feel resentful of it, rather that there’s something it’s trying it’s absolute best to fix. !
This is a must read for anyone suffering with chronic illness. The only bit I was unsure of was the very last chapter - where he envisions a future filled with AI to aid our health - but it doesn’t distract from the rest of the book. Hearing such incredible stories of healing has been powerful and it is strangely comforting to know people have managed to turn their horrific terminal illnesses on their heads by taking their health into their own hands.
In the last year I have been diagnosed with post infectious IBS and ME and this book I am sure has helped me to turn my illness around. I had to keep going back and rereading pages that I loved!
It has encouraged me to change my story around my illness from one of ‘why me’ to ‘try me! I loved this book!
