The layout is pretty clean and crisp and feels modern. The book is clearly laid out, the photography is good and the text is engaging. The recipes themselves are easy to follow, with clear and well-written instructions. Getting the most from it might mean changing the way you shop, cook and even store food - not just learning a few new dishes.

I like the flat illustration style where it pops up, and the photo's are warm and homely. I've read some of the other reviews and some of the comments seem a bit comical to me, admittedly I charged through the filler at the front - I get that it was needed to add a theme to the book as a point of difference, but it doesn't detract from the content that had the most value to me - the recipes and the prompts they give me . THIS is another great book, like having a friend in the kitchen helping to make yummy food by sharing tips to make funds/favour go further.

There’s a real range, with plenty of vegetarian options. I'm happy to have this book in my collection. I don't have the consistent attention or motivation for traditional cooking, I'll be quite frank and say that I like the short sharp double page spread recipes that are laid out like this for ease of following and quick reference, without the flowery flamboyance of those who enjoy the theatre of cooking (which I don't) so the value to me is getting new ideas for ways to try combining more easily accessible ingredients into something with a bit more variety than I might ordinarily do when on auto pilot.
