About this deal
Your home becomes a secure environment for your pet, leading to a happier, more relaxed animal. The cat flap has a built-in microchip reader that reads the cat's ID chip, or ID badge (sold separately). Maximum door depth: 70 mm. With the Standard version, you can choose which cats are allowed in, but all cats can go out. The SureFlap Microchip Cat Flap identifies cats using their unique identification microchip, unlocking only for your pet and preventing strays and neighbourhood cats from entering your home. If you buy the DualScan version, you can also decide which or which of your cats can go in and out. The tunnel extender adds 50 mm and can be connected in series. No more unwanted visitors with the SureFlap! SureFlap cat flaps recognize the ID chip already implanted in your cat, allowing access to your pet and making unwanted visitors a thing of the past.

If worse comes to the worse I can always send it back. I was really nervous ordering this cat flap as I was not sure if it would work with my cats microchips but I thought it's defnitely worth a try. This is a well featured cat flap for the price paid. For this price however, I would expect more of a digital experience where you can set the positions (in-out) remotely from your phone.

I had to push his little head in and it picked it up after 2 or 3 seconds, thankfully. I then tested it again - when the cat stuck her head into the tunnel part of the flap - where the microchip reader is - and it unlocked the flap again. My black cat (who is only small, bless him) was attacked by a rather large male stray cat and he tried to get in through the cat flap but it wasn't opening quick enough, leaving him in a panic! Both our cats use it easily and it didn't take long at all for them to get used to using it.

It is quite robust, we have two boisterous boys, who will try and come in at speed too. The process to have it fitted into the window involved a glazier coming to measure and then taking the flap away. My cats live outside mainly - and sleep in the shed.

Overall this is a good cat flap. If I lock it, they literally try and punch their way out 🤣. Then it was a simple matter of pairing our cat's microchip and off we went. These lasted around 4 weeks before the low battery light came on.

It looks very nice and it works although the cat flap entrance is quite small, my two cats are between 3. There are various lock settings that are achieved by simply turning a dial on the cat flap.

It was a very expensive decision as I had to replace my triple glazed window, so I am very unimpressed it’s not being used. Catflap was easy to fit in place and super easy to program with both our cats. The last photo shows the window before installation. I had to go and collect a parcel and stressed out came home early - to find two cats asleep upstairs.
