This book is an incredible look into the side of autism not seen in popular media. It also offers a new way to think about autistic stereotypes and how to thrive in a difficult society whilst remaining true to your neurodiverse self. Never cried at a book before.

It explores the aspects of autism inherent to so many people's lives, and the incredible strain of hiding these feelings and behaviours in order to pretend to be normal. Devon really hits the nail on the head and I identified with him a lot throughout the book. I have to be honest I haven’t read a book in 7 years cause books have never caught my attention especially ones without pictures and I always found reading quite hard but I gave this is a try and from the first page I was dragged in and I can’t put it down! It explains the failings of the medical establishment to properly support neurodiverse people.

Cannot recommend a book more than Unmasking Autism! So many practical steps to unmask yourself too and makes me see how much I do mask. There are also references and an index at the back of the book. Cried a couple of times reading it as I've never felt so seen.
