I've noticed it removed almost all low-tones from the environment (like car engines) and fan noise. I wrote a review for the Bose that you can find via my profile. I like how it sounds on all 3 - the QC35 sounds more nimble than the other two - but the drums on the Beats win out. Fit:Wearing the Sony’s is a little different.

aptX increases the bandwidth over Bluetooth for a far better listening experience. Just a tad louder. The highs are muffled and flat, and it sounds like the audio has to work it's way through many layers of cloth before it reaches your ears. Great for podcasts and mindfulness meditations too where blocking out the world really immerses you in the conversation/experience.

After comparing the qc35 reviews with the Sony xm2 headphones, I went with the latter as they had far superior reviews. The Beats have never had a single dropout. The Sonys I have used for two days on commutes and - not one dropout, which looks promising. It gets hot but less annoying than in-ears personally.

In an ideal world I would have kept these for winter and moved to the buds for summer but I only have so much money and so I had to make a judgement call. Cyberman rating 8/10Beats Solo - despite small cups these are at least as noticeable as the Sonys.
