And Gillian pulled it off perfectly! This is a story of what ifs - not what if I do this or that, more like what if I had done that or this. It becomes clear that there are events in your life that you took for granted, you didn’t appreciate, missing the little things as time continued to pass you by.

It's genius reading, clever and confusing but when the twist comes (no spoilers) your jaw is round your lungs! I shan’t elaborate on those lessons learnt by Jen, for the benefit of keeping the plot under wraps, but suffice to say that there are profound, yet delicately drawn wisdoms contained within that made me hold my son a little tighter and longer last night, upon finishing the book.
