You could also make one from a thicker fabric, or even a wide ribbon. They are in no wise necessary, and less expensive options are available. So in conclusion, as is this costume would work for most people, and I would highly recommend it.

For reasonably little more money, a few accessories make it an outstanding costume. The "Zuccetto" or skull cap while it does work and would probably be good enough for most people, it a bit too large. I personally would just use the velcro unless you're going to use it multiple times.

Finding a red one, and one without markings might take some research. They add a little bit of flair to the costume, for about $100 more. It is extremely thin fabric, think nightgown thin. There are however a couple of issues that prevent me from giving it a full five star review, both are reasonably fixable with minimal effort, and expense.

The only way to wear it is to tie it. The other major issue is the sash. One other thing I would recommend. There are a couple of fairly simple remedies.

You could purchase a Jewish Keepah, that would fit much better on this site for about $10-$15. As you can see I added a Pectoral Cross, red Bishops ring, red shoes, and a red cloak, all purchased from Amazon. Unless you're quite tall, you might want to wrap the hanging part of the sash around the waist part, to avoid stepping on it, or tripping on it.

And another at the point where you want to fasten it. Which means unless you're very skinny, you won't be able to make it open far enough to make it look right.
