My husband thought it had a nice strength, and tasted best chilled and smooth. I found it to be very smooth, more so than our normal whiskey choices. A very nice sipping whisky with a hint of smoke. No caramel colouring and blended to provide a consistent flavour.

However, even though I am more of a wine or cocktail person, I decided to at least sample this one, just out of curiosity. When I tasted it I thought it had an almost medicinal flavor, with an herbal spice aftertaste.
I'm not a whiskey drinker, but my husband and father-in-law are. 5% ABV (alcohol by volume) this Isle of Islay is 46% ABV but despite it being a bit stronger it is not at all harsh. At least, it didn't leave me as breathless as other whiskey does.
Described as aged in sherry & bourbon casks to give this distinct smokiness. I bit stronger than normal UK spirits which are often 37.
Very nice gift for whiskey drinkers, and is sure to impress. He normally mixes with Diet Coke, but drank this one with ice and/or water.
