-The box is petite and doesn’t take up much space and I personally believe the design of it is also fairly nice especially with the light signalling system. -This brings me on to the apps. -It has a reminder feature which is very handy to have and I’ve personally missed having it in the past on other boxes. If you choose this low energy option permanently, then it will take your box a while to wake up and start working.

-You can pause for up to two hours, that’s an hour longer than the last model I used which is excellent. So for example if you are wanting only HD programs to show up, scroll to the right and select it. All of the points above are the reasons why I can wholeheartedly recommend this freeview plus box and why I have chosen to give it a full five stars without hesitation. You can even record individual programs or record the full series which will auto record each episode when due to show.

-Whilst in the guide again, push the green button to get you back to the current time, press yellow to choose which channels you want to show or hide in the guide. Then because it has been paused for this amount of time, I can just fast forward the ads, it’s a neat little trick when you hate watching the ads 🙂. You can of course change this setting to ‘always ready’ which will mean you can wake it up nearly instantly from standby and your box will use around 15 watts whilst in standby. -The box also has an aerial out port which may mean you can route the Aerial signal to say your TV or another freeview box.

I’ll push pause on my favourite program, go and do some jobs or make a cuppa then come back and unpause 15-20 mins later. If you’re on holiday for example or out on business you can use the YouView app on your phone to connect to your box at home to start a program recording on your box.

3 watts. Get your 4K sports channel, or Netflix etc subscription and admire the beauty of 4K viewing, and yes it is noticeable!

-The box has a light signalling system on the front panel that tell you when; the box is off, it’s on, always ready, in energy saving or smart standby mode, on and recording, always ready and recording and in energy saving mode/smart standby and recording. Yes you heard right. -There are accessibility tools such as the ability to turn on subtitles, audio description and sign language if available. And so there you go, so many reasons as to why this box is probably the one for you and the great thing is, anybody can have one, you don’t have to be a BT customer to use it and you don’t need any subscription.

There is also the audio feedback system that sounds a bleep every time a button is pressed. There are two pins, one to access adult material and one to enable purchasing. So if you’re waiting for a program to start, you can set a reminder to pop up whilst you are watching something temporarily.
