This full-bodied wine is a deep red colour. To me, with the aforementioned accompaniments, it had a blackcurrant edge with a slightly creamy overtone, a subtle hint of spice and just a touch of pepper to finish.
Founder Brian McGuigan adopted the central symbol of the family crest, the lion, to reflect inspiration & the McGuigan's enduring spirit & passion for producing great quality Australian wine. A great night was had by all, and a queue of people are going to be checking out the various McGuigan wines available on Amazon, with great prices (delivered, at the time of writing) for a very well-received wine, in more ways than one!

The usual elegant bottles emerged in the trademark black label, with white lettering and a reddish-pink coloured 'ribbon'. Although the weather wasn't fantastically warm for celebrating the middle of summer, this wine went down very well with a neighbourly natter over char-grilled steaks, chilli pasta or chunky vegetable kebabs, as the elusive sun finally appeared. Some liked it at room temperature, others preferred it after a spell in the fridge and several liked it made into a fruity, ice-cubed sangria which went down as quickly as the sun, with pud; a slice of Black Forest gâteau sided up with a little clotted cream.

Today Brian's brother, Neil McGuigan, is at the helm of McGuigan Wines & continues the proud family tradition.
