Microsoft says this smoothness is due to it being constructed with glass beads. The keyboard doesn't "click" on.

This keyboard now connects to the bottom of the Surface with the usual magnets, but now also lifts up and magnetically attaches to the bezel at the bottom of the Pro 3. Keyboards with short key travel are hard to type on for long periods of time. I don't care what keyboard you should choose, there is none more mobile than the Surface Type Cover. My most used is the settings key.

I honestly don't know that I would use my Surface Pro 3 without it. The keys have a satisfying amount of travel, even though the cover is less than 5mm thick. Another important aspect to have in mind is that this keyboard doesn't have a Print screen key.

The trackpad is lightyears beyond what I expected. Albeit getting a little dirty, mine has held up surprisingly well. This may seem like a small thing, but the caps key light was something that I was introduced to with my Mac, and I hate every keyboard that doesn't have one. - A caps key light.

After a week its still going strong. It doesn't bother me a lot though. Key travel and response are excellence and a joy to type on.
