I came across this particular make and found that not only does it make a super clean cut, it also lasts a lot longer than cheaper versions. Also used for some machining of grooves. Small gripe but wish it came in better packaging like CMT bits do.

I needed a top-notch cutter in a table mounted application to trim accurate rebates all around the edges of the body on my home build ukulele project, ready to take the wooden binding strips that protect the edges and give a nice decorative touch. Great stuff from a great maker - everything I’ve ever bought from Trend reinforces their brand to me. Cleans up nicely between uses and still sharp after few hrs of use. If you’re attempting to make your own MFT top then I implore you to stop looking for a bit and buy this router bit.

I've heard sad stories of people getting this far in the build only to have the instrument damaged at this step. As a hobby I build scenic slot car tracks, I route the slot manually.

Just the right tool for the job, and worth every penny. I tried several different 20mm router bits and forstner bits and most were not good, and left burn marks and generated WAY too much heat. . I only use Trend cutters as cheaper versions don't last and can damage or burn the oak.

Bench dogs fit nicely. These cutters are good quality and cut very well in hardwood. I’ve tried other cheaper brands which pass by but don’t last as long and end up burning the workpiece and smoking after very few uses.

Jon

I had this bit within about 10 days. K.

Bored mft holes nicely. The bottom and side cut combined were of interest as I new this would mean there was less risk of damage.
