If I was using the timer and stopwatch frequently I would look for something else but I mostly end up using my phone for those things anyway. I bought a GW-M5610 solar powered watch to replace it.

At around eight years the plastic casing of the watch started to disintegrate. Briefly, the watch was purchased in July 1990, 25 years old! Toughness, durability, style, illumination is epic, light weight, comfortable, and easy to use. With this said It's still 5 stars, it's great value for money and for me it’s perfect.

This will NEVER need a new battery and will probably still be going after my ticker stops. ? And all of this on the original battery - never been replaced, the case has never needed to be opened.

The only negative I can think of is the adjust button is recessed and difficult to press. Only flaw I can think of is that the button used to change the time on your watch/start the stopwatch is small and kind of hard to use. This watch is a great beater day to day watch for the gym, swimming etc. It displays the time, day and date which isn’t much but it’s exactly what I wanted.

OK, so I still have the original DW5600 G-Shock I bought in 1989. It’s waterproof so I don’t have to take it off when I'm swimming into rivers to retrieve fishing lures and it’s tough so I don’t have to worry about breaking when it bashes into trees and logs. I see this thing lasting me a lifetime as long as I don’t lose it. It's a classic design and I wear it everyday over my Samsung smartwatch, it is so light and comfortable you barely even notice you have it on.
