The game is recommended from the age of 3, but I consider it necessary (as otherwise recommended) for an adult to supervise children while they play to avoid swallowing sand (or small parts of the game) or putting their hands in their eyes. Unfortunately, the excavator can only have the excavator bucket at the bottom or at the top, so it's rather bad to load something on it and keep it in the air. A great set for small construction workers!
