The 6xx don't EQ very well, because the 6xx is already a colored headphone. But the desire to try the sound of the magnetoplanar, of which I had read wonders and of which I was also fascinated from a technical point of view, was there and I could not continue to ignore it. So I asked for the change, a new item was delivered to me in less than 24 hours (! From this point of view, the Sundara are really good, excellent if you take into account the price.

The HiFiMan Sundara 2020 is better for neutral sound than the Sennheiser HD 660 S. The not excellent build quality makes me suggest that future owners treat these headphones with care. They also have significantly better stage performance and more consistent audio delivery.

It almost sounds like a mini woofer is built into the Sundara. Is it worth it in the end? In this case, the dynamics and body of the bass improves considerably at very pleasant levels, but by maintaining the equalization with the bass pulled up, at very high listening levels, you begin to perceive a some unpleasant distortion.

UPDATE After taking the balanced cable, correctly equalizing the headphones and trying them for a long time, I must say that I absolutely fell in love. The Sundara is the exact opposite with a very flat and neutral frequency response that also extends much better in the lows and highs.

Sundara sounds amazing with orchestral musicImaging - 6xx - 4, Sundara - 8. For example the 6xx may have mid bass, but it lacks sub bass and rolls off around 100hz, so when I EQ more sub bass +4db around 30 - 80hz the Sundara create more punch/slam in the sub bass that I can't reproduce with the same EQ in the 6xx.
