It's light, compact and very easy to use. Now it was clearer than the original unfiltered water - but not crystal clear - compared to the clear water of the sawyer mini it was a little bit murky. Very pleased with it.

The package was delivered with a crack in the syringe tube, otherwise everything was good. backflush), water tasted good (I took mine from the River Walkham at the base of Great Mis Tor on Dartmoor and the water was clear) and very compact.

But I won't personally be trusting the DrinkSafe WaterStraw and I'll be sticking to the Sawyer Mini from now on! It also screws on to a platypus bladder so you don’t need to cut the hose. (See Photos)I use the Sawyer mini in conjunction with a Camelbak activated carbon filter for extra piece of mind and better flavourIf you wild camp, or spend time out in 'the wilds' it makes sense to have one of these in your pack along with your first aid kit and survival bag/bothy. Also if I want to use the Sawyer drinking pouch, the male quick connect fitting that I installed on the Sawyer Mini is still smaller than the inside diameter of the pouch neck so I just insert it through the neck and screw the pouch down to the Mini. Now to filter it.

I was rather disappointed. I can't rate this thing highly enough. Easy to use, 2 rules, don't allow to freeze and don't squeeze the pouch to hard. Ok on to the much better Waterstraw.
