I really like how he apologizes to the principal and teachers at school (see picture)***The beginning made me a little upset with how awful the main character (Maxwell) was acting, but it had a purpose and fit into the story perfectly. ***Spoilers: The book concludes with him figuring out how exist in his world again and apologizing to everyone. I think this would be an excellent read for any child going through a tough time (especially divorce) or has a friend who is going through a tough time.
The main character gets to see what life would be like if he never existed and he does not like what he sees. It has a perfect amount of magic, not over the top, but very necessary and mysterious. I throughly enjoyed this book, and highly recommend it. This book is a fun and easy read.
It is about a boy who gets into trouble and one day, after really messing things up for his entire school, wishes he never existed. “I wish I’d never been born” (page 70). Everything is different: school, family, and most importantly his dog!
