The only very slight smell that comes from it is clean and woody, by no means unpleasant. Just what l need to keep my hat's and scarves in , Magic . Just right for holding my extension cable and small garden tools. So happy with my choice, lovely and sturdy and attractive looking - and I personally love the smell of them!
