A milder, sweeter, more approachable Chartreuse that’s the perfect first taste of these distinctive liqueurs. First introduced in 1838 as a more accessible version of Green Chartreuse, the Yellow version uses a base of grape distillate and is bottled at a (relatively) lower 86 proof. Chartreuse can be enjoyed pure, on the rocks or in a cocktail. Thick, syrupy and tongue-coating, this is different from Green Chartreuse but just as tasty. The difference is determined by the herbs used and this affects which flavors are most noticeable.
