2 I have even committed the cardinal sin of changing the orientation of a set of three year old barracudas from horizontal to vertical, when the library enclosure backplane failed, and they just continued on in the new enclosure with zero errors. Defo buy more Seagate drives for storage again. In my experience, you have about three months from the start of the drives giving errors, to more serious problems.

But if the drive is around 8 years old, it has pretty much done it's duty. 100% happy with my purchase will be buying my next hdd from same company 100% returning customer and also wanted to add grate price and fast delivery service to thank you What I received was a barracuda inside a heat sealed anti-static bag, but it was loosely packaged in a generic cardboard box without a warranty card.

success I returned the drive and bought the slightly more expensive official Amazon-supplied drive, as these always arrive in mint condition. I use them both in the house network drives and the Home Theatre library.

Not a problem if you have NVMe SSD(s) like me. It runs smooth and quiet, in so much that I had to keep touching the drive to insure that it was on, but there was no issues!

The reason for 4 stars even though it failed? I have this installed in my gaming computer and have had no problems using it. Installed easily enough and just had to get windows 10 to see it and initialize it.

I Transferred 1 TB to it of films, music and pictures and it managed in just a few hours, about 1/3 the time of my 3yrs old 2 TB drives, so satisfactory, though I think that the price could be better. Likely just unlucky with bad drive, but very satisfied with god tier customer service. Secure packaging Stiff cardboard with a formed internal cage and minimal wiggle room.

I mention this because I was tempted by a supplier that was slightly cheaper than the official Amazon-supplied drive. EVERYONE will be in the game before you as it will take a while to load. I was a little concerned about buying a hdd offline due to them being so fragile but the box it came in is perfect hdd is held on Center of the box no movement available for it to slide about or get damaged. I was pretty p****d off to be honest.
