He really isn't very fast. The book is in a rhyming style and each double page spread has a different illustration and text about something the little child and the Grandad have done together such as "When it's time for running races, Sometimes he pulls funny faces! This is a large hardcover book that measures 25. This is a really sweet book and just in case the title didn't give a hint it is all about how much a little child loves their Grandad.
The Grandad depicted has grey hair and looks to be an older Grandad which obviously won't fit a lot of Grandad's including my own Dad but both of my children could still identify the common Grandad mannerisms and thought the book was very funny. He tries, but always ends up last! 8cm by 28.
