A great Christmas gift idea. Well what can I say? Overall I’ve been very impressed with the speed it boils and the quality of the package itself, if buying for yourself you won’t regret it and if buying it as a gift I assure you it will be well received! There’s a couple of copies out there so be sure you get the original that’s been well designed and made.
Everything from the box through to the kettle is made from good quality materials that should last quite a long time, I can now store everything together in one of the cab lockers and is easy to grab to throw the kettle on whilst waiting to do a delivery or even just having a 15 minute break. A friend recommended it to me and it is as good he said.
It boils the 850mls of water in under 6 minutes on 24 volt feed plus has the stay warm option, left is boiling and right is keep warm, it also has a screw on lid with a release button like a flask and is double walked so doesn't lose heat as quickly as a plastic kettle, the addition of a good quality enamel cup and storage jar was ingenious, the laser cur spoon is a brilliant touch as is the embroidered tea towel! No such problem with the kettle in the tea box! As a ‘tramper’ (a driver away all week) I was using a 24v Dunlop kettle as we are not permitted a has stove and that getting to be the norm in trucks these days, and as good as the Dunlop kettle was it was far too slow taking about 18 minutes to boil 1 litre of water and the lead would get very hot in that time, it also had a bad problem with condensation on the handle when it eventually got hot enough to create steam but it didn’t actually boil switching off well before boiling point! I would like to see the words on the handle changed to Truckers tea box or even “Drivers Tea Box” plus I think the addition of a thermal cup with lid in place of the open enamel cup may serve drivers better.
