I rescued 2 skinny kittens from the roadside in Bulgaria. She is back on dry but a mix of wet and dry now and the wet food stays fresh for a good 12 hours too (another concern when I had to switch to wet only for a while that it would dry out and this bowl solved that too) It’s easy to clean, the lid comes off and I wipe the side with wet wipes.

I also notice a reduction in passing opportunist cats taking his food as they can't smeel it anymore due to the seal over the top of the food when the flap closes. *this item has been working great up until 7 months of use, one of the plastic guides on the top part that runs on the rails appears to have come off and now the mechanism intermittently jams allowing flies and insects into the food.

To my surprise, he has taken to this very quickly and was eating from it within a few minutes. When it arrived I was tempted to see if she could work it out but decided I was going to follow the instructions and I used the training mode (4 x stages where the lid closes slightly more at each stage) I am so glad I did, it took 2 weeks and I did as the instructions said and took things at my cats pace and she mastered it! Easy to clean.

I have had the bowl about 6 weeks now and no problems so far. At one stage the lid did close on her when she was eating but i realised I had the bowl too close to furniture and once moved forward that problem solved. I wonder whether this is because the sensors are set to open the bowl whenever a cat comes near, but a warm draft of air also seems to be able to trigger it - I tested this by putting a cup of coffee in front of it and then setting a fan to oscillate so it blew the hot air from the coffee toward it.

I have had to reduce his food portions slightly as the foods staying fresh until the following day so he can graze all day long whereas before he would turn his nose up at it after a few hours. Cost me a fortune for injections and passports to get them to UK.
