Saw this in the cinema and loved it , I was a bit sceptical before hand hoping it wasn't going to be like Watchmen which was dreadful ! Over the remaining opening 15mins we are then introduced to the 'Deadpool' character in the present-day/near-silence with accompanying humorous behaviour, before learning the salient elements of his situation/personality/ultimate aim (with the aid of voice-over and him talking to the screen) as he goes about trying to complete his 'mission'. .

Absolutley fantastic film, well worth watching But yo my surprise the best Marvrl movie I'v seen to date and I'v seen them all , so I thought I purchase this in 4K UHD blu ray and omg the picture and sound quality just adds to this already funny, tongue in cheek humour and action packed movie , definitely not a movie for kids a abuts super hero movie but not the super hero you'd expect ! Instead, whilst CORRECTLY mentioning the film character types and standard cast/production titles, it instead mocks the 'accepted' existence of them all as well as referring to them with derisory and often offensive labels.

'Deadpool' cost 'just' $60million but made some $800million at the box-office, making it the highest grossing X-Men film to date and the ninth-highest-grossing film of 2016. ). There is also a lengthy "From Comics to Screen. This film came as something of a shock if one is used to the 'normal' storylines and content of Marvel 'X-Men' (and 'Avengers' for that matter) films; whilst having the basic elements of the genre, it is in almost all respects the 'antidote' to them (I'm stealing the analogy used by the BBC radio comedy programme 'I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue').

S one of the best opening scenes I'v seen in a movie ! 1 soundtrack being clear and active to project the action and copious special-effects to their best. Definitely the best film I have seen in 2016 and most certainly made me chuckle.

Well, it might be of the 'X-Men' genre (arriving after 'Days of Future Past') and include a few associated characters, but other than that it is a standalone story which requires no other knowledge of the 'X-Men' world. Everything is pleasingly sharp/clear and bright on Blu-ray. Loved it that much I pre-ordered this 4k ultra hd version.

Wow what a film! What IS first shown on the screen (after the obligatory production logos etc) is a quite marvellous 2mins or so opening credits 'exposition' of a 3D/freeze-frame carousel nature (with some typically inappropriate schmaltzy covering music - 'Angel of the Morning' by Juice Newton), with absolutely NO MENTION of actual characters or cast/production members ! To detail the plot would be largely revelatory, which is why I don't think you should read all the Amazon synopsis - instead, here's the sparsely-detailed first bit of it which I think is better and enough to start with :"Based upon Marvel Comics’ most unconventional anti-hero, Deadpool tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson".

So how do you explain the basics of this film ? With hindsight, this opening serves as an excellent way of setting the tone for what is to follow BUT I certainly wasn't expecting it, so being able to rewind and review after eventually realising the nature of it was very useful and allowed me to properly enjoy it - like the film as a whole, it really is not to be missed !
