So, yeah, again a five star tarot deck, no question! Another deck I preordered immediately after seeing the first images.

I absolutely love this deck! The cards themselves are thinnish but very nice stock, smooth and easy to shuffle.

I had hummed and harred for a good few weeks about buying this deck, just kept being drawn back to it everytime I popped in here, and then I woke up at 3am thinking. The booklet, as seems to be customary for Lo Scarabeo, is multilingual in English, Italian, Spanish, French, Portuguese, Russian. Some novel approaches and lots and lots of potential.

No German though. The pictures are all so meaningful and due to the size perfect to read. I'm buying that deck! Gorgeous dark designs.

All in all: this is definitely not a deck suiting fans of the sweet and kitschy Doreen Virtue kind, and not one for people who like a clear short answer without putting in any work. The images are black and white, either featuring crows and/or people wearing those beaky masks worn by doctors during the Black Death epidemics.

Consequently a lot of the cards are quite macabre or morbid, mostly dark, some are downright ugly. The box is nice and sturdy, with crow images in red on the inner sleeve (after pulling off the lid). Of course it's not for beginners, if you've been working with tarot for some time, you understand a lot of things and very clearly.
