The real high point of this film however, is undoubtedly the overall ‘look’. yes I am xD #WakandaForever Lol.

We are in our 60s, so over the years, we have enjoyed Christopher Reeve as ‘Superman’, Tobey Maguire’s ‘Spiderman’, and latterly the Christopher Nolan ‘Batman’ series. Chief amongst these is the late Chadwick Boseman, who starred here as T’Challa, the new young Wakandan King, known as the “Black Panther’. The reality is that some people will always have issues with films be them big or small.

Another is Letitia Wright, a young Guyanese-British actress, with a CV including the BBC’s ‘Holby City’ and ‘Dr Who’, and Spielberg’s interesting dystopian Sci-fi film ‘Ready Player One’(2018) which was shot in Birmingham. 5 solid Stars. This film, which appeared in 2018, was the 18th of the Marvel Superhero films, and at 140 minutes, it makes a substantial statement. This is a review of the June 2018 All Region Blu-ray from Walt Disney.

That said, there are several unusually thoughtful moments in this film, and the cast copes well, as with the all-out fights and chases. I watched the movie 4 times in the cinema and I can't wait to see it again on Blu-ray!

We bought the 3D version that does proper justice to the cinematic experience; the, colours, the scenery and CGI comes across really well. And I continue to favour 3D at home on my high end 4k TV set over the 3D experience wit most movies in cinema. Amazing film! The quality is exceptional.

It would seem that there are some people that got offended when they were reminded of some things that happened historically. Boseman had been appearing in films since 2008, and had already played T’Challa in ‘Captain America: Civil War’ in 2016. The story line is somewhat interesting with some levels of complexity and surprise; T’Challa has risen to the throne of Wakanda after his father, T’Chaka, the previous king, died in a bomb attack.
In an action-rich Superhero film, subtle acting is never really the name of the game. They are joined by white Brits Martin Freeman, channelling his inner ‘Everyman’ as a CIA good guy, and Andy Serkis, appearing as a live human for once, as the perfidious South African arms dealer Ulysses Klaue. There is so much depth to the film and the film bought a lot of people together from different cultures, sexes and people of varying ages which is great.
