They have a solid look and feel that shouts out that they will last seemingly forever. These have a good arch built in that helps those with flat feet giving a solid walking platform. I’ve never had a skin break or even close to it but I’m aware of the hot spot, as well as the lateral push when walking. But I found them a little stiff & hard on my feet.

. On the positive, the shoe is a comfortable, non-chafing fit. But, not only do I like the look fine, I love the way these fit my feet and especially my toes!

This KEEN variant won't be mistaken for anything other than hikers, but are streamlined enough to drive in. Very proper. These are not running shoes in earth tones.

This model has an interesting “baffle” ar the back of the toe box designed, I assume, to outlast straight leather at that critical wear zone. The only two weak points i see with this pair is 1) the yellow soft plastic part which I'm afraid will tear and crack after long exposure to the sun and abrasion. All in all, these hold my heel perfectly solid, provide amble arch support, and the toe area speaks for itself. Replaced my worn out Keens with this upgraded style.

In my first pair of Keens I was wearing a orthotic and Keens were one of the only shoes that allowed you to remove the insole and insert the orthotic. It detracts a bit from the enjoyment I’d otherwise get from these otherwise terrific shoes.

I’ve burned through several now, and also have a couple pairs of work boots too. After that I got a pair of ankle hiking boots and hiked around Maine from Katahdin to Acadia, NP in them.

To get this useless feature, the tongue needs to be attached to the shoe leaving a web that folds when the shoe is on. The Keens have the loop made (please see photo) to remain always open. Five stars large!
