My initial impression is that this Blu-Ray version isn't much different to previous DVD incarnations, but as you can see in the photo, you'll see there's better colour definition and it's noticeable sharper (BD on the left, DVD on the right). This is not to detract from the quality of the release, I'm glad to have it on Bluray, but I feel like I've been conned.

The opening scene on the episode "Time", in series 2, looks really clear. A definite buy! Where this set really stands out though are the extras.
Well, it arrived today and I have to say I'm disappointed that it's NOT the full "Fundamental Frolics", but a mere 3 minutes plus of Rik performing on the show. Both Disc one and two have commentaries, but disc three for me, is where this set really shines with discarded inserts, documentaries and bloopers. . The only missing thing I know of in this set is "Living Doll", the Comic Relief video with Cliff Richard, but that doesn't detract from this 80's nostalgia.
I saw this advertised and on reading the info that's on the back of the box I was overjoyed to see "Fundamental Frolics" as a bonus feature, which led me to order it immediately.
