’ I absolutely love this perfume, used it for many years; however the top was a job to remove, I used it and placed it in my bag, next day on going into my handbag, the top was completely dislodge and bag/contents covered in perfume! From the ancient Far Eastern symbol gracing the bottle to the mysteriously exotic scent inside, Cinnabar is warm.

On a cautionary note, CINNABAR is a dark-coloured perfume, so care does need to be taken when spraying especially near light-coloured fabrics. Need to work out how I can contact about a replacement. ooOooManufacturer detail (at the time of writing):' Mysterious ~ Exotic ~ Endlessly appealing.

Others immediately recognised it as a familiar blast from the past ~ a scent which is linked to 'me' and memories of times gone by ~ which says it all, IMO. To my nose, it is a relatively complex, heady scent - an exotic spicy marriage with soft undertones on a creamy, woody base, with patchouli lingering a good long while, faintly there the next morning.

My only problem ~ I really don’t like the new bottle lid but old habits die hard and you can’t please all of the people all of the time, I guess? ✏️ EDIT : 12th DECEMBER 2016 ✏️On a working weekend up in town, I managed to find some time to go around various department stores selling the new shaped bottles for some of the 'EL' range, including 'CINNABAR'.

This unique scent is the same as I remember it, even on the fade. Less is definitely more. The gold-coloured block lettering CINNABAR/ESTÉE LAUDER down the front of the bottle is the only clue to the contents (other than the sticker on the bottom) but 'EL' fragrances do not need a garish embellishment, IMO. A little goes a long way, too.

I could have cried. endlessly appealing. Introduced in 1978, Cinnabar marked the beginning of a worldwide wave of exotic Oriental fragrances : Jasmine, orange flower and clove blend intriguingly into an intense, sensual experience.
