Older and newer generations of units seem to be able to communicate with each other, which gives one the option of adding more advanced units at another time. Brilliant product. This particular unit is an extension unit for an existing powerline configuration. However, they work fantastically.

The limiting factor for the speed of your internet access is the router to the internet not the connections inside your home. TP-Link powerline adaptors utilise the mains wiring as a form of built-in network cable so that you don't need any additional cabling to be installed. I've used powerline adapters in the past, within the house, and figured since the power goes out from the house it might work although it might not have been very good either.

My WiFi connection was down into the kgbs. It has taken my Internet upstairs from bordering on unusable to "very fast" according to speed tests. 4GHz band and does not use the most recent fast wi-fi protocols.

The signal strength is very good and the speed is good for calls, but I would invest in something more substantial if you are looking for hire download and transfer speeds. The existing Wi-Fi signal basically doesn't reach the garage and it's not usable.

This brand, TP link I have been using for quite few years, updated for new product which provides faster speed. Reliable!

Used this amazing little ‘plug in’ to get internet down the garden to our lock down garden bar. The powerline units can be set up quickly and easily if you follow the instructions – however if you want to have a secure powerline network then you will need to use TP-Link's application to configure the security. First photo is download speeds straight from the Rueter, second photo is download speeds from the extender. It's important NOT to plug in the powerline unit via a surge-protected socket as that will block most of the data signal that they need to function.
