This product is maintenance friendly as the frame section is adjustable within a range of 3mm. When the window is closed from the turn position, the limit opening function re-engages. if you read on we did get there, the cat is alive and safe in the house and we're still together. I did have a bit of an issue getting the bases of the pins to sit in the window frame - you'll notice that one of the images I've uploaded shows the base of the pin to have some slight damage - this is from having to use a screwdriver and a bit of hammering to get it in, and you might also notice a (admittedly very tiny) amount of deflection in the plastic frame, this is because the base of the pin was ever so slightly too large for the euro groove in the frame, and as such it got deflected a bit.

I installed mine at the top of the window and I feel calm now that my autistic son will not manage to fall out. BUT. Would I buy these again, Yes! I recommend a strong duct tape to initially stick the latch in place to get the right location rather than drilling away (measure twice cut once etc etc).
