I knew once I filled the drive with games and files it would slow down a bit, but having filled it up to 83% I can safely say the speeds are still absolutely phenomenal. If you look at the photos I have posted with this review, one of the drives is my old SATA SSD, whilst the much faster drive is the Samsung 980 NVMe SSD drive at 83% filled. 2 which was a snail by comparison. Anyways, the product is just perfect.

I decided to have a look at the Black Friday sales and saw this gem going for £71. Its easy installation process, coupled with its affordable price point, makes it an attractive choice for those looking to upgrade their storage without compromising on performance. In my opinion, the Samsung 980 is a reliable and high-performing SSD that offers impressive speeds and a generous 1TB capacity. But strangely is faster at writing than the onboard Apple SSD, either way it's about a hundred times fast than my old external drive so everything seems to happen at warp speed, and the camera I'm after takes 4k video so I'll be looking to make full use of it.

It worked as a boot drive just fine with the firmware that came pre installed, read speeds are similar to the 970 Evo Plus at around 1600MB/s read/write (That's the limit on these older Macs on a single PCIE adapter). 29 on it.

I wanted to see if could act as a boot drive on a Mac Pro 5,1 as the initial firmware on the 970 Evo Plus did not allow booting from it on a Mac Pro 5,1. Used in a dell laptop to improve speed over the original sdd m. Firstly the 1TB capacity of the Samsung 980 provides ample space to store your operating system, programs, games, and files.

Let's kick this off with saying, I got this on a deal and I only spent £57. I installed this in my ASRock X99 Extreme4 after it failed to recognize the 990 Pro I purchased. 0, then this is definitely one of the best drives you can get.
