So glad I did. Just two minor pet peeves, the first is that like all of their products it comes with a European plug so you will need a 2 pin shaver plug to charge it; the second is the instructions- like many other companies they seem to have abandoned using actual words in favour of complex pictograms that you’ll spend the first half hour trying to decipher. This base unit acts as a cleaning station for the shaver. The most important one being the razor head which is, after all, its main purpose.

The soft buzz sound is not annoying. Replacing his now aging Series 3 there are some major improvements.

Our eldest grandson is not having great success with learning to shave with traditional razor blade so I suspect he might appreciate this easier more gentle experience for his sensitive skin. It is a beast as you can see from the photo - it’s almost twice the size of the Series 3 (although, curiously, the long hair trimmer is smaller). It arrived with a standard two pin bathroom style shaver plug so I had to get a converter plug to be able to use it as I don’t have a shaver point in my bathroom - but that worked perfectly.

My partner has long been a fan of Braun products - they are a very reliable brand, and this is no exception. And this base can also act as a charging station by simply leaving the shaver in it upside down without activating the cleaning process. 👍

It’s good , but still not perfect for that price, they didn’t focus on the shaving precision rather than the machine and associated equipment , Wow! Overall this shaver ticks all the boxes in terms of style, quality, ease of use and added unique components.

It does come with their cleaning station, but of course this requires their own proprietary cartridges. Disappointing the box had been opened before it was received, everything inside seemed to be present and unused, so did not return for exchange. This one came with a soft carrying case instead of the swanky new power case. Did a great job of face and whole head, easiest used with the head in non fixed position.
