He is more alert to my commands, and generally doesn't even try going down into the rhino-like pose he used to pull me along with on walks. Cons - Your dog will try to wriggle out of it every single walk, and because the lead clips on under the chin it does mean a lot of picking up their paws as the lead gets wrapped around them when they run. Yes, my springer isn't the biggest fan, and spends at least 30 seconds each walk rubbing his nose along the ground trying to get it off.

You can just slip it back on easily and carry on. I used to have to walk my springer spaniel with two hands, and take it in turns with my partner so we didn't end up with shoulder pain. I've found that not only does it help us with his daily walks, but I can now also ask my family to look after him because they aren't dreading the dog-walking process. It is by no means a tool that makes your dog walk perfectly, and I do find that the lead being under her chin can make it a bit more difficult to control her direction.

Aside from that though, I have no complaints because I don't get pulled down hills or into ponds any more! The media could not be loaded. I was a little worried that it does not connect to the ordinary collar, but there is no way my dog can slip it off, and he automatically walks in the correct heel position.

I cannot believe how it makes such an instant difference. Pros - It's actually astounding how well this works, so definitely give it a try. Having an eight months old Newfoundland male we started having difficulties walking him as he is getting strong as a horse. She likes to zig zag and walk directly in front of me so I usually prefer the lead to be on the back of her neck so I'm not having to hook it under her chin to the right side all the time.
