The one on the right has been down for a week now, and the balls are still loose, but starting to thicken. This is our first winter in our new house and we noticed the salt getting clumpy when we stored it in the kitchen cupboard. I put one in a small room and it immediately went solid with an oily film over the top. UPDATE: I have realised that the beads going solid is not a problem.

They certainly need to be in place for more than 2 weeks. I wanted to point out that yes, they do, but I think they are supposed to as part of the process.

Once I've finished my box of 10, I will no doubt be buying another one. May be it needs some warmth to work as our garage is the most humid part of our house and no heating. You will see from the third pic that they DO collect water.

I live near the sea and the air is supposed to carry more moisture down here so I find them invaluable. I don't normally write reviews, but after reading the previous ones and thinking it's only a 5er, so worth I punt, I tried them. I have no idea why there are good reviews for these. ?

Emptied the water, Opened top layer and add new crystals and yes it works perfectly fine! Give it time, and it should work. An unopened one weighs 292grams where full one weighs about 482grams.

Mine collect moisture filling up to the level of the beads in 2 to 3 months. Perfect!

I don’t know why they don’t tell you this because most of the negative reviews are for this reason. I got these as we've always had issues with damp on an outside wall in two bedrooms. I use an electric dehumidifier but tried these to save on electricity and the are amazing! So, I decided to reuse them.
