Im such big kid even tho im 50 told my son i would love a copy of hardback so he bought me it with other gifts. I have to say as well, the illustrations in this book are just incredible, we love when there's a picture page and stop reading to pour over the details before we continue. Came to buy that one and ended up with a whole Ben Miller collection. Decided to start with this one and it's become our bedtime story book, I read a chapter.

It's such an incredible touch. They really are stunning pieces of art. Thank you Ben Miller for writing such a wonderful Christmas book 🎅🦌🎄 Just loved this book from start to finish it brought the Christmas Magical feeling back to me, its been tough year this book helped my Christmas spirit read it on Boxing day with lockdown upon us again.
My eldest has made a few predictions as we've gone through and has enjoyed being right, or sometimes wrong about things. My youngest usually has no patience for stories and it's a battle to get her to sit still long enough to ready but she is now rushing to get ready for bed and begging for another chapter each night. I love all books related to Christmas, my fav book is Christmas Carol coloured hardback picture book but this book is up there too, which i will read time after time. Or two, sometimes three, each night before bed.
But at least I have a few others to get stuck straight into. My daughter's, 7 and 11, are really enjoying the story, it's not too young for my eldest, but not too difficult for my youngest to listen too, and it's made me laugh out loud a few times.
We are enjoying the similarities to another classic Christmas story as well but it doesn't feel like a copycat story, it's completely its own story. .
I'd heard a colleague reading another of Ben Miller's books (The day I fell into a fairytale) to her class at school and thought it sounded brilliant. I cannot recommend this book highly enough, we are just over halfway through and I'm already hating the fact that the book will end.
It really keeps you wanting to know more and the story is fun and engaging.
