Of course, one of my two cats thinks the new EVA flooring is a giant scratching mat. They now use it regularly and don’t touch the new chairs. But if you have hardwood floors, it might be an issue - you may need to acquire 4 rubber feet for sensitive flooring.

Pro:-Simple design, easy assembly-Sturdy - the base comes in 2 pieces held together by 2 fluted dowels and the base bolts to the tower post with 2 Phillips screws that are recessed into the wood so they won't scratch a wood floor-Good quality scratching material - this is a solid set up and the scratching surface is strong. I have another cat - a long, rangy calico and she can reach the top of this post with a full stretch so it works well for her as well. This cat post was a good purchase.
