It's definitely a step forward from my point and shoot, with a lot of modern features such as Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity, but also it is easy to use and learn. I only had the camera for a few weeks but so far I really enjoy getting great pictures of my family that are in focus every time. I wish I had gotten this camera years ago instead of relying on my phone camera or my little point and shoot. It has IS which is great for hand-held zoomed in shots.

I have always had the Canon powershot superzoom bridge cameras (currently own the poweshot sx 70 hs, before i had the sx 50 hs, and sx 30 is before that) so I'm not totally new to semi-manual and manual settings, but I never really saw how the manual settings worked until I got this DSLR camera. I bought a used item fulfilled by Amazon which gave me peace of mind from the get go.

It is also easy to use from the start with presets for every situation. I would recommend this Canon to anyone. I haven't shot video yet but I have heard it is good. Good camera for beginners.
